How to Plan a balanced Diet?
To create balanced diet, we need to combine food in an adequate amount to get an appropriate amount of nutrients.
Food is vital to life. It is solid and liquid component which our body takes and in return provide us energy. Human body is like a machine which get affected when too little or excess food is eaten.
The actual energy requirement of individual are determined by age, gender and physical activity level. First discuss about the creation of meal:

Food delivered nutrients to the body to support its daily activities. These daily activities are influenced by individual eating and lifestyle pattern. So, Lets discuss how to create a diet that supports good health.
As you all know, each food contain different ratios of nutrients. Some are high in carbohydrate or some are high in protein etc. None of the food is capable of providing all the nutrients in an adequate amount to meet the individual requirement.
There are six food groups and all of them have different nutrient compositions both in quantity and quality.
- Cereals
- Vegetables
- Fruits
- Milk and milk products
- Meat and pulses
- Fats and oils
To obtain healthy amount of carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins and mineral, we need to eat at least :
- Non starch vegetables: 2-3 servings
- Fruits: 2 servings
- .Grains: 5-6 servings
- Milk: 2 servings
- Meat: 2-3 servings
- Minimum amount of fat and sugar
One trick is to select combination of food that provide adequate amount of nutrients. Indeed, you can select that combination of food from MYPLATE and MYPYRAMID according to your energy needs.

Last but not least, along with balanced diet you need to focus on your lifestyle and modify it according to your needs. As a healthy individual, brisk walk for 30 minutes in a day for a healthier better life.
